Soft Lockup Panics Can be Enabled (Default is Disabled for CentOS/RHE)
Make sure /proc/sys/kernel/softlockup_panic is set to 0. You can control this with sysctl softlockup_panic=0. If this is set a soft lockup will not only warn it will panic.
